Race #4 of the Sportif Cross Cup Series
Conditions: Sunny, Dry and Windy
Mike started his first non-Masters 3/4 race. He got off to a good start, but coming off an injury, got shuffled back. The wind was blowing strongly and once one lost contact with a group, it became a lot harder to stay close. Mike used the rest of the race to get back on track with his rhythm and CX skills, coming home 16th.
Without a lot of technical features, Eric knew this was not the best course for his skills, but he was in the hunt for the series, so he was going for it. He got off to a great start and settled into an early lead group of three riders. On the second lap, one rider was able to break away and left Eric to battle it out for 2nd. After going back and forth for the next three laps, he was finally able to gain some separation on 3rd place and rode strong to the end for a satisfying 2nd place finish.
Next up for the team are the Howard County Biketoberfest (Sportif) and Ed Sander Memorial (Super-8) races on 11/1 & 11/2, respectively.
