Man that was a long one. For most of the team the racing started in February at the Snowcone/ball/man/ice product races in Richmond. It’s now August and we might be just as thrilled that it’s done as our wives are. We’re going to toot our own horn here a bit, we had one hell of a season. For a team of 7 guys, we’re basically the per capita leaders of everything Cat4 racing. We’re working on a petition to get that superlative officially embossed on a certificate where we will divide it into 7 even pieces for each member of the team. But, don’t take my word for it, the proof’s in the results sheets:
- 5 wins.
- 11 podiums.
- 21 top 10s.
- 4 upgrades. (3 to cat 3, 1 to cat 4)
- 3 crashes.
- And a partridge in a pear tear.
During the winter when we sat down and decided to put this rag tag crew together we all had one goal, race as a team, even if the results didn’t come. Well, the results came. Lots of hard work paid off and more importantly, lots of fun was had.
It goes without saying that we are incredibly indebted to our sponsors, VeloWorks and Spokes, Etc. Without their support we’d have been a floundering bunch of individuals doing the wrong intervals on the wrong equipment. Thank you guys for everything you did and continue to do for us throughout the season and for seasons to come.
We’ll see everybody next year, unless you’re racing CX, in which we’ll see in you a month. Yeah, our wives aren’t really thrilled about that either…
